So I am at work today and
a patient came into our office that
I use to see at the old job.
That's pretty normal. I see
alot of old patients switching
doctors.
Thing is I knew this patient's wife.
I had talked to her alot in the past
at the old place.
We got to chattin' again.
She's in her late 50's, I guess.
I remember we share the same date
of birth. Not year, of course.
In the past I use to have my hair
short and she had made a comment to
me back then that it made me look older.
As time has passed I grew my hair back
out. Not becuz of her comment but becuz
I always change my hair and I got tired of
it being so short.
Today she asks me how old I was now.
I ask her to guess.
She guess's that I am in my 40's.
Which I am not.
I am 37.
Just gotta love days like this one!

And yet another quote that touched me:

My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny.

He is listening
For Miss Dialup Princess

How Do I Know if God is Listening to Me?

Many people believe in God and pray to Him and still wonder if God is listening. If we really believe that God desires a personal and intimate relationship with us it follows that He indeed does listen.

Often the question is not so much is God listening, but am I being ignored? Again, it seems impossible that an all-loving God would ignore us.

This brings us to confront what may be the toughest thing to come to grips with. Maybe, just maybe, God has listened and replied, but in our spiritual blindness we are not hearing the answer. This blindness can be caused by resentment, fear, selfishness, too infrequent or inconsistent prayer or simply a failure to be aware of our surroundings. God moves through all of His creation and His signs are everywhere. Our discernment is faulty if limited to our human capacity. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit, however, allows us to “hear” in ways that are spiritual. The Holy Spirit is the giver of Truth. The Spirit’s message can be communicated through others, in your heart and always in the Word (Bible).

If you feel like God isn’t listening and is failing to answer your prayers you might need to take a hard look at what you are praying about. Is what you are asking self-motivated, or are you praying for God to act in your best interest? Sometimes God does not grant our request because it is not the best thing for us (despite our opinion at the time).

The next time that you wonder if God is listening you might turn your attention to someone in need. Be a comfort and a helper. See Christ in those less fortunate. I’m convinced that many blessings flow when we do this. You can be an instrument of God’s grace to others and they will surely know that God is listening. And, so will you!

Hi all!
Hi all!
Sorry I haven't been around much.
It's not as tho I have forgotten
my blogger friends becuz I haven't.
I feel that I just have just not
been in true blogger spirit and
have been concentrating on so many things.

As I have mentioned before, I feel my
faith ebbs and flows. Right now I feel
as if I'm on a high and feel "right" or
really "close" or maybe I could say
on a better path.

This morning as I was going to work
and listening to the Catholic radio
station, I heard a little inspirational
story that brought tears to my eyes.
I thought to myself, I don't need to
go ruining my makeup before I ever get
to work! Ha!

I wanted to post the story here and see
if maybe it will touch someone else too.

Story Of The Scars
Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ranout the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. His mother in the house was looking out the window saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, she ran toward the water, yelling to her son as
loudly as she could. Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and
made a U-turn to swim to his mother. It was too late. Just as he reached her, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the mother grabbed her little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs.
That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the mother, but the mother was much too passionate to let go.
A farmer happened to drive by, heard her screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.
Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal, and, on his arms, were deep scratches where his mother's fingernails dug into his flesh in her effort to hang on to the son she loved.
The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he
would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Mom wouldn't let go."
You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, or anything quite so dramatic. But the scars of a painful past, some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you.
The Scripture teaches that God loves you. You are a child of God. He wants to protect you and provided for you in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waitinng to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms be very, very grateful.
He did not and will not let you go.

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience, patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach--waiting for a gift from the sea.
