You Are From Neptune
You are dreamy and mystical, with a natural psychic ability. You love music, poetry, dance, and (most of all) the open sea.Your soul is filled with possibilities, and your heart overflows with compassion. You can be in a room full of friendly people and feel all alone. If you don't get carried away with one idea, your spiritual nature will see you through anything.
What Planet Are You From?
HOW FUNNY IS THIS??????
NEPTUNE'S NOT EVEN A PLANET ANYMORE!!!!!!

I just thought this was really sweet
GOD'S BOXES
I have in my hands two boxes Which God gave me to hold. He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box, And all your joys in the gold." I heeded His words, and in the two boxes Both my joys and sorrows I stored. But though the gold became heavier each day The black was as light as before. With curiosity, I opened the black, I wanted to find out why, And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole Which my sorrows had fallen out by. I showed the hole to God, and mused, "I wonder where my sorrows could be." He smiled a gentle smile and said, "My child, they're all here with me." I asked God, why He gave me the boxes, Why the gold, and the black with the hole? "My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings, The black is for you to let go."

I really like what this little story says. I have a big problem with carrying things around with me. I am sometimes filled with anxiety, worry, stress, fear, guilt. I know I should let it go. I know it such a waste of precious energy. I know I need to let it go. I try. I pray. I hope. And yet evidently I don't try hard enough becuz I still carry anxiety, worry, stress, fear, guilt. So you can see why I like this lil' inspirational story--just another reminder to me that I am not in control. I need to chill, relax. What will be, will be.

I will greet this day with love in my heart. And how will I do this? Henceforth will I look on all things with love and be born again. I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will love the rain for it cleanses my spirit. I will love the light for it shows me the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars. I will welcome happiness as it enlarges my heart; yet I will endure sadness for it opens my soul. I will acknowledge rewards for they are my due; yet I will welcome obstacles for they are my challenge. --Og Mandino

Inspired
Inspire: To affect, guide, or arouse by divine influence. To fill with noble or reverent emotion, To stimulate to creativity or action.

I have to say that I have luckily stumbled on some very positive and inspiring blogs this year.
Let me give you some examples of wonderful blogs that I have discovered this year and have inspired me:

www.sms100.blogspot.com

www.carson132.blogspot.com

www.alifeinspired.blogspot.com

I have been really touched with these blogs and really look forward to what they will write
next. Don't get me wrong, I love to read what all my blogger friends past and present write about. I do find inspiration in all of you but these that I mention above are new to me in 2007.

Speaking of inspiration, I wonder if you look for inspiration in your day to day life?
I can honestly say on some days more than others, I look for inspiration.
I am inspired by nature, animals, a babies smile or coo, a kind word from a stranger, someone holding the elevator for me, a good days work, my family, my hubbie, blogs, mass, church activities that I'm involved, emails, poems, quotes, plays, movies, TV shows, music, books.

I look for inspiration to give me joy, to help me not take my life for granted, to refresh me, to humble me, to lift me up when I am blue or just to give me a hop in my step.

l read a little something in the December 1st, 2006 Entertainment Weekly that got me thinking about being inspired. Entertainment Weekly posed a question to the readers--
"What movies, TV shows, books, songs most inspired you and why???"
Here are some of the answers that some readers gave:

Book--'Ordinary People'
"This book taught me that it is important to understand, forgive and love others, but much more important to understand, forgive and love yourself"--Christopher

TV show--'The Muppet Show'
"In my baby book, my mom lists this as my favorite TV show. As I grew up, the Muppets
helped shape my sense of humor, my imagination (important as I am a creative writer), my curious mind, and my sense that everyone has worth, even monsters."--Josh

Song--'Best of You' by the Foo Fighters
"There are tons of things that inspire me, but the most recent would be the this song. I finally had to accept that my crummy job was getting the best of me and that it was time to
get a new job. I've neve been happier in my life."--A.A

Song--'Pieces of My Heart' performed by Melissa Etheridge
"I had just lost my father to cancer, and seeing her singing this song at the 2005 Grammys
while battling cancer herself really spoke to me, and inspired me to take challenges
head on and not let them beat me."--Kim

So now my question to you-----What book, TV show, song, movie, or play has inspired you and how???????

To make you think....
I'm gonna be away for a few days. Going to stay with my sister. So, I thought I would leave you with this post. It is an email that I received and it really made me think and realize yet again how blessed I am.

If we could reduce the world's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing human ratios remaining the same, the demographics would look something like this:
60 Asians
12 Europeans
5 US Americans and Canadians
8 Latin Americans
14 Africans

49 would be female
51 would be male

82 would be non-white
18 white

89 heterosexual
11 homosexual

33 would be Christian
67 would be non-Christian

5 would control 32% of the entire world's wealth,
and all of them would be US Citizens

80 would live in substandard housing

24 would not have any electricity
(And of the 79% that do have electricity,
most only use it for light at night)

67 would be unable to read

1 (only one) would have a college education

50 would be malnourished and 1 dying of starvation

33 would be without access to a safe water supply

1 would have HIV

1 near death

2 would be near birth

7 people would have access to the internet

If to take a look at the world from the condensed perspective,
the need for acceptance, understanding and
education becomes evident.

Think of it!

If you woke up this morning with more health than
sickness, you are luckier than the million that will not
survive this week.

If you have never experienced a war,
the loneliness of an imprisonment,
an agony of tortures
or a famine
You are happier than 500 million persons in this world.

If you are able to go to church, mosque or synagogue without
fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death,
you are happier than 3 billion persons in this world.

If there is a meal in your refrigerator,
if you are dressed and have got shoes,
if you have a bed and a roof above your head,
you are better off than 75% of people in this world.

If your parents are still alive and still married,
then you are a rarity.

If you have a bank account,
money in your purse/wallet,
and there is some trifle in your
coin box,
you bleong to 8% of well provided
people in this world.

I have been tagged by the wonderful, inspiring Miss Starry at
www.stargazer-lalitha.blogspot.com to list
10 things that define my style
1) my handwriting. I have been told that I have really good
handwriting. I will agree with this. That is one compliment I
will take. I love to write. The feel of a good writing pen in
my hand. I like to fill out paperwork.
I love to send cards to people I love and like just
becuz I want to say hello and there is nothing nicer than
getting a nice note amongst the bills and junk mail.
2) I collect frogs. I don't know how many froggy things
I have but it's quite the collection. I don't know why
I love frogs like I do but I do. I think they are cute. Some
do not. I kinda feel like a frog or toad represents me.
Either you like me or you don't, or think I'm attractive
or not, just like the little froggies out there, either you like
them or you don't. My favorite
frog to collect is the stuffed animal kind. I have a room in
our house that is my froggy-Elvis computer room. There is
a plant shelf built up top around 3 of the 4 walls and it's covered
with stuffed froggies. Two things about frogs that I like:
The frog is a sentinel of our environmental health. Save the frogs.
Save our world.
And I like what frog stands for: Fully Rely On God.
3) Elvis. I am a fan. I have been to Graceland once. I cried.
I have more CD's on Elvis than any other artist of my time.
I have more books on Elvis than any other subject.
I like Elvis in ALL stages of his life. His is THE KING.
By the way, Elvis would have been 72 years old this past
Monday, Jan. 8th.
4)My scent. I always get complimented on my scent.
I am a huge fan of body splash and perfume. I prefer body
splash since it's not as strong and doesn't overpower as
perfumes sometimes can. I tend to smell fruity or flowerey.
Favorite body splashes: From Bath & Body--Cucumber Melon,
Juniper Breeze.
From Victoria's Secret--Forbidden Fantasy, Pure Seduction,
Sweet Temptation & Strawberries & Champagne.
From Walmart--Calgon's Hawaiian Ginger
From Sear's--Time Out's Pineapple Crush
From Avon--Exotic Beaches.
5) My personality. Now I'm gonna put my personality
in more than one slot. I am gonna break it down
into #6, #7 , #8 and #9.
So first let me mention I am
a tell like it is kinda girl. I don't like to beat around
the bush. If you ask my genuine opinion I will tell you
the truth....or atleast the truth that I know. I am
also the kinda girl that if I have a problem with you
or if I feel you have a problem with me, let's just
get it out in the open and fix it, if it can be fixed and
move on.
6) My personality -my faith. I believe in God. I believe in
Jesus. I do like to talk about it. I do like to write about it.
I feel that my faith is why I am so blessed. (Hence my blog
name). I do not like to force my beliefs on people. I do not
go around preaching. I like for my actions to really speak
louder than my words. I want people to find God and Jesus
on their own and if they don't, well, it's their business.
I will admit that I hope they do becuz I feel that I
have found so much more understanding, peace, and joy
since I put God first in my life and I think they would too.
But again, it's their life and I always wish everyone the
best even when we disagree and even when I have been
done wrong.
7)My personality--well, I feel I am goofy. I am a goofball.
I am sometimes corny. I am sometimes mushy. I like
to make people smile and I will do this by trying to make
light of a subject, trying to be funny, or just being goofy.
I will dance if I feel like dancing and I will skip if I want to
skip. I am goofy like that. It makes me happy being the goofy
clutz I am and sometimes I think that happy rubs off and
makes someone smile. (To many frowns in this world).
8) My personality--my sensitivity. I am sensitive.
I don't watch alot of movies becuz they make me cry.
I find myself not watching the news becuz it just
breaks my heart to see all the suffering.
I brake for small animals.
If there is a cause that is brought to my attention,
I will likely take that cause on. My favorite
charities are for animals---like the Humane Society.
I cry if you cry. If I feel sadness from you, I feel sad.
If you are hurting, I hurt.
9)My personality--my excitement. I feel for the most
part I am a pretty jubilant person. I get excited over
a great song, a letter from someone I haven't heard
from in awhile, at work when things go well and patients
are nice, going to a nice dinner with my honey,
thoughts of prospective plans for the future, taking
the eucharist, hanging out with good friends, dancing,
doing karoke, being in the ocean, walking on the beach,
a beautiful sunst, etc, etc, etc. I try not to take things for
granite and to realize how lucky I am to do the things
I do.
10) My dress/appearance. I am a casual gal. I do
like to wear my makeup. I do like to have my nails
done. I do like to have my hair colored since I can't
believe the gray that I have at 36 (my hair dresser
doesn't think it's as bad as I make it). I am a jeans
and hoodie kinda girl. I like to wear athletic shoes. Or
shorts, tank top and flip flops. Or be barefoot.
I guess maybe alot of what I wear for comfort is
tom-boyish. But I am a girlie-girl. You won't catch
me without my lipstick on even if I'm sporting
a ball cap. I can dress up but I prefer when I go out
to wear a nice pair of jeans, a dressy top and heels or boots.
I don't have to have the latest fashion. I wear scrubs to
work. But I do have to have my jewelry on. I wear
sterling silver jewelry becuz I don't really like yellow
gold. I feel silver is more casual, looks good on my skin
and if I lose it, I don't feel so bad since it didn't cost
as much as gold and is easier to replace.
11) BONUS---
I am big reader. I love to buy books. I read more than
I watch TV. I love to especially
hit bargain book bins and find some 'jewels' there.
I prefer biographies since real life is sometime stranger
than fiction.

NOW IT'S YOUR TURN TO TAKE THIS TAG AND USE IT FOR A BLOG ENTRY.
WHAT 10 THINGS THAT DEFINE YOUR STYLE????????

(Feel free to tag me anytime---thanx Starry!!!)

Update---
Sister is doing fine. Fine as you can be after having surgery.
Thank you all for your well wishes, prayers, and positive thoughts.
I can not tell you how much it means to me!!! You ALL rock!!!!
*********************************************************
Well, my blog template is really getting on my nerves. Some are seeing
my blog as it should be seen, others are not. This includes me.
On home computer I sometimes see it right and then other times
it has switched on me. Grrrrrrrrrr.................
(that's me growling). Hopefully, this can be fixed. I have enlisted
the help from a very beautiful, creative blogger friend, Jeannie Grrl,
who hopefully has the magic touch. Cross your fingers that I don't
have to move to another spot and start over. I have done that
like 3 or 4 times since I discovered blogland! If I move, I hope you will
come visit me there. But that's my last resort. I'm not going anywhere yet.

Bear Facts
Maybe we were born into the wrong species, see what you think....
If you're a bear, you get to hibernate.
You do nothing but sleep for six months.
I could deal with that.
Before you hibernate,
you're supposed to eat yourself stupid.
I could deal with that, too.
If you're a bear, you birth your children
(who are the size of walnuts)
while you're sleeping and wake to partially grown,
cute cuddly cubs.
I could definitely deal with that.
If you're a mama bear,
everyone knows you mean business.
You swat anyone who bothers your cubs.
If your cubs get out of line,
you swat them too.
I could deal with that.
If you're a bear,
your mate EXPECTS you
to wake up growling.
He EXPECTS that you will
have hairy legs and excess body fat.
Yup..... I wanna be a bear.

First post of 2007
Happy New Year!!!
Here we are into the 2nd day of 2007.
So, HOW DID YOU SPEND YOUR FIRST DAY OF 2007?????
Were you lazy?
Recovering from a hangover?
Did you hit any New Year's Day sales?
I was lazy. Stayed home with my honey. Cooked breakfast (which is a rare occurence anymore).
Never took a shower. Stayed in jogging pants and my UK vs. Clemson Music City Bowl sweatshirt (We won!!!)
I did do a little cleaning. Organizing. Playing around with my new HP photosmart c6100 All-in-one series (printer, copier, fax, scanner).
Took a long nap. Just me and Mr. Kitty Cat snug as a bug on a rug. Honey fell asleep on the couch watching a MASH marathon.
I don't usually do naps since if I nap then I don't sleep at night or I stay up
alot later than I should. Which is what happened to me again. Was awake until 2 a.m. But that was okay since I don't have to work today. Since I couldn't get a off work on Friday, Dec 29, I took off today instead.
Today, I am cleaning some more. Organizing. The repair people are coming to FINALLY fix the broken dishwasher. I am very thankful for that since I HATE to wash dishes by hand. Doing a little laundry. Later, I am going over to visit a friend. She is 9. If you have been reading my blog, I had wrote last year that her mom passed away while they were on vacation. I am going over to play Scene It, the Disney version and then we are going to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond so I can pick out a new shower curtain and accessories. I am tired of the colors and pattern in my bathroom. Time to spruce it up.
Enough for today----may you have a great 2nd day of 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
