Burn and rip

Okay, ya'll are gonna think I'm such a nerd.
Since I got my computer I have this
wonderful feature that I didn't have
before: I can burn/rip CD's.
I had never burned a CD till
the other day. Sad aren't I?
Well, I'm obsessed! I no longer
have to go out and buy CD's only to
get one song that I love. I can
burn it baby!!!!

Last supper

glitter-graphics.com

I heard about this new book:

My Last Supper: 50 Great Chefs and Their Final Meals / Portraits, Interviews, and Recipes
by Melanie Dunea

And so I have to ask--

WHAT WOULD YOU WANT YOUR LAST SUPPER TO BE?

Me?

Probably, sushi/sashimi.

More inspiration
I don't know who wrote this but I sure like what it says.

"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too sel dom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These ar e days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cheris h the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

I'm cold and I don't like it.
Brrrr.........
It's cold.
I stood outside today with the wind
nearly cutting me into two.
It was that icy wind that
finds any bit of skin and
freezes you till your teeth
start to chatter.
Oh I hate it!
The gray, the rain, the cold.
My car temp said 50 degrees.
Tonight the low is forecasted
at 37 degrees.
No!!!!!!!
I have sweatpants on right now.
Socks on my feet.
I actually turned the heat on in
my car!
When I walked into the house this
evening (after class), I thought to myself
should I turn the heat on?
No! I will snuggle up in my blanket,
dreaming of warm sunrays, green leaves
on the trees, pretty flowers reaching
for the sun, my barefeet walking on the
cool green grass, blue skies with out
a cloud insight.

Quote that made me think

(Photo taken by me)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is
our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most...We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Scary
I know I really haven't blogged in awhile but this
is on my mind: Staph bacteria known as MRSA.

The bacteria, which is resistant to common antibiotics, is known as MRSA. It most commonly appears in hospital patients.
New findings show MRSA is now causing more deaths annually in the U.S. than AIDS. According to the new calculations by the Centers for Disease Control, MRSA is responsible for nearly 19,000 deaths a year and more than 90,000 serious infections. The figures suggest the infection is twice as common as previously thought.

Just a little scary don't you think??????

Right foot
Well, the last time I really posted I was talking about my mishap with falling
from a step on my porch and hurting my foot.
It wasn't getting any better after visiting my local urgent treatment center.
They said that it wasn't broken or fractured.
They were wrong. Almost a month after I went to a orthopaedic specialist due to the swelling and pain.
It is a stress fracture of the fifth metarsal.
By the way, never visit an urgent treatment center if you think you
hurt a bone.
Anyway, the ortho doc re-x-rayed since he couldn't really read the UTC
x-rays and they put me in a cast for six weeks. I could not drive and did not
feel that I could burden myself on anyone to drive me around to all
the places I have to go, so I had the cast cut off after 4 days of wearing it.
By the way, I did feel a bit claustrophobic with that cast on. I had moments of
wanting to visit the tool shed for some chain chutters to cut the sucker off!
But I didn't. I eventually got use to it, somewhat. Then I had them cut it off
and now I am in a removable walking boot.
So I thought I show you some sexy pics of my cast and my boot.
Enjoy!
